MVEPC Annual Social and Dinner Meeting
The Merrimack Valley Estate Planning Council Board has scheduled an in-person annual social and dinner meeting for May 31, 2023 at Palmer's Restaurant at 18 Elm Street, Andover, MA 01810 at 6:00 p.m. We welcome all our members to gather in person for networking, for discussion of the Council's future calendar and agenda moving forward and to enjoy the wonderful cuisine that Palmer's Restaurant serves.

Below is a link to a copy of a Final Draft of Amended By-Laws dated May 17, 2023 which I will be requesting that our members vote on at the meeting on May 31, 2023. The Merrimack Valley Estate Planning Council Board met and agreed that changes to the current By-Laws would be beneficial for our Council. Please review the attached Amended By-Laws dated May 17, 2023 prior to coming to the meeting.

We were able to sponsor a number of National Association of Estate Planners & Councils (NAEPC) zoom seminars this past spring to our council members with topics of interest from recognized experts in their field. We would like some feedback from our members regarding whether or not these zoom seminars are something our membership would like to see continued for next year.
Election
It is time to vote on a slate of new officers for the Merrimack Valley Estate Planning Council. The Council will be taking a vote from members on May 31, 2023 at our annual social and dinner meeting. The nominations for new officers are as follows:

- Jason Tholander, CFP, MSFS, MPAS, AEP, RICP, APMA, CEBS, CRPS, CPFA, North Atlantic Investment Partners, LLC for 1st Vice President
- Attorney Kimberly Rainen of the Law Offices of Kimberly Rainen for Treasurer
- Secretary:

- Lou Pereira, MBA, CBI, CBA, ASA, CVA of MBA Appraisers
- Mary Ellen McIver, VP of Hub International, Ins.
Speaker Opportunities:
We welcome any suggestions from our members regarding topics of interest.
We also try to engage our members with opportunities to speak to other members as presenters. If you have a topic of interest of if you would like to speak at a dinner or at an online zoom seminars, please let us know by contacting our First Vice-President, currently Steve Stanganelli, CFP, CRPC, AEP at steve@clearviewwealthadvisors.com.
Dues:
The Officers and Board of Directors anticipate that dues will be due for council members for the 2023-2024 membership year in or about late August, 2023.
New Members:
New members are always welcome. The conversations we have and the relationships we build with council members when we attend member events enrich our professional and personal lives. We encourage every member to reach out to other estate planning and related professionals they know and invite them to fill out a membership application.
